Call for Volunteers - AYRU Organization BBQ
Aug 18, 2010, 3:58 pm
  • WHAT: Youth Rugby (AYRU) Coaches and Organizational BBQ
  • FOR WHO: Open to anyone who loves rugby and wants to help more kids in Albuquerque play it!
  • WHEN: Sunday, August 29th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm
  • WHERE: Montgomery Park (southwest section of the park, off Comanche)

  • DESCRIPTION: The AYRU is reorganizing and energizing for the Spring 2011 season, and is looking for volunteers to coach and help with league management. Please join us for an informal BBQ to learn more about our mission and plans for 2011. There are small and big areas of responsibility for anyone who wants to help out from lining pitches, organizing kits, to coaching a team, and so on. Please respond to tgoslau@mac.com if you can join us on the 29th, or if you just want to learn more about how you can help out.

  • WHAT IS THE AYRU?: The AYRU is a 7-year old organization dedicated to developing youth rugby in Albuquerque, and is sanctioned by USA Rugby (governing body for rugby in the USA). Our Spring 2011 season kicks off the first week of March and will be made up of 8 non-contact clubs for ages 7 to 14, and 4 high school contact clubs for age 15 and up. Our Fall activities consist of three player-coach clinics in September, October and November, as well as a youth rugby exhibition at the High Desert Classic Rugby Tournament in October. Join us!
