Albuquerque Eagles

The Eagles Rugby team represents rugby for the East Side of Albuquerque, NM. The team is currently composed of players from Eldorado, Highland, Monzano, and Sandia High Schools.While loosely affiliated with Eldorado High School, the team is not officially affiliated with any of the high schools and welcomes players from any high school in Albuquerque area east of the Rio Grande.

Rugby on the East Side originated in 2002 at Highland High School and in 2004 a handful of players from Eldorodo High School began exploring the sport. For a brief time, a number of players from Eldorado played in matches with Highland and Pius. In 2005 the Eldorado and Highland teams began to play together and, with players from Sandia High School, formed the Albuquerque Eagles Rugby Football Club.

Team colors are black jerseys and black shorts. The players retain high school identity through the colors of the sock highlights:
Eldorado- Orange
Highland- Yellow
Sandia - Red
Monzano - Purple
