I've lost the result page with the scores so if you have this tucked away somewhere, please let me know (dgr). 2008 New Mexico State ChampionshipThe 2008 State HS Rugby Championships will held at the Santa Fe fields on 10-11May, 2008. As discusses at the Union meeting we are rotating responsibilities between Santa Fe and Albuquerque and the POC for the tournament venue this year is Richard Morris (ram@morrissurvey.com, 505-469-9417 ). The first kick-off will be on 10 May at 11a.m. To be eligible in 2008 teams must be active participants in the RGRFU HS league as demonstrated by a minimum of one match against each league team and a minimum of six league matches. Tournament seeding will be based on Winning Percentage; ties will be based on head-to-head and then point differential (points for minus points against). There are currently five eligible teams from RGRFU which will be seeded based on league play. Schedule May 10 Matches start at 11:00, 5 minute break for halftime; 15 minute break between matches Match #1: Seed 4 v Seed 5 for a play-in match. This will be a short match; 20 minute halves (?) Match #2: Seed 2 v Seed 3 . 25 minutes halves Match #3: Seed 1 v Winner Match #1: 25 minute halves May 11 Match #4: Loser Match #1 v Loser Match #2: 20 minutes halves Match #5: (Championship) Winner Match #2 v Winner Match #3: 30 minutes halves Documentation Each team must provide a copy of the attached form. This is the form for the National Championship, but the spirit of the rules are the same for the NM State Championship. Since there are only five teams, please provide a copy during check in on Saturday morning before your first match. In addition, for each player, each team must provide the following three forms: - copy of HS identification card for proof of HS enrollment and proof of age and insurance. If player is home schooled, then signature of a parent on a note to that effect will be sufficient when accompanied by copy of NM Driver License. I have attached a template that is used by other Unions that should make things consistent across all the teams. Just give a copy to each player, have them take it home and run off a copy of their HS ID and insurance card an then return it to you. If a player cannot provide proof of insurance, a signature by the coach waiving this requirement (on the form) will be sufficient this year. - copy of the US Rugby CIPP form - copy of club Medical Release Form These last three are best kept in a three ring binder for each access during check-in on Saturday morning.
